Ingredients

  • 1/4
    lb extra-lean (at least 90%) ground beef
  • 1/4
    cup chopped onion
  • 1/3
    cup shredded reduced-fat Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4
    cup Bisquick Heart Smart® mix
  • 1/4
    teaspoon salt
  • 1/2
    cup fat-free (skim) milk
  • 1/4
    cup fat-free egg product or 2 egg whites

    Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 8x4-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.

    In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook beef and onion over medium-high heat 5 to 7 minutes, stirring frequently, until thoroughly cooked; drain. Spread in pan; sprinkle with cheese. In small bowl, stir together remaining ingredients. Pour into pan.

    Bake about 20 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

  • Cook a one-pound package of ground beef with the onion. Use 1/4 of it for this recipe. Cool the remaining beef completely, then divide into three parts, wrap tightly and freeze for future use.
  • Even the leanest beef still has some fat. Press browned ground beef between two layers of paper towels to eliminate more fat.
  • Savory Impossibly Easy Pies can be covered and refrigerated up to 24 hours before baking. You may need to bake a bit longer than the recipe directs since you’ll be starting with a cold pie. Watch carefully for doneness.
