1: package (8 ounces) cream cheese, softened

1: tablespoon milk

1: teaspoon vanilla

4: cups powdered sugar

Save $$$ on your favorite brands

1 Beat cream cheese, milk and vanilla in medium bowl with electric mixer on low speed until smooth. Gradually beat in powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time, until smooth and spreadable.

I have been a long time patron of Betty Crocker Whipped frosting for cakes and frostings, however, in my recent purchase, I was a bit disappointed. It seems to have lost some of its sweetness and become somewhat 'shortening' tasting. It's no longer yummy enough to eat from the spoon...

This is a bit sweet for my taste. Reduced powdered sugar to 2 cups and added 3 tablespoons maple syrup to give it a different taste, especially when making recipes with pumpkin. As a bonus: leave off the maple syrup and replace it with 1/8 teaspoon mint flavoring for a frosting when using a recipe with chocolate, ie., brownies
