Ingredients

  • Ice cubes
  • 2 tablespoons sloe gin (1 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons gin (1 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon powdered sugar
  • 1/3 to 1/2 cup club soda
  • 1 orange slice
  • 1 maraschino cherry with stem

Steps

    Add ice to highball glass. In cocktail shaker with ice, shake sloe gin, gin, lemon juice and powdered sugar until blended. Pour into glass, straining out ice. Fill glass with club soda. Garnish with orange slice and cherry.

    Sloe gin is a red liqueur flavored with sloe berries (also called blackthorn berries), which are a small fruit related to the plum.

    If you have superfine (caster) sugar on hand, use that in place of the powdered sugar. It dissolves quickly and is perfect for beverages.
