Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup whiskey (2 oz)
  • 1 teaspoon simple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon water
  • 1/8 teaspoon aromatic bitters
  • Ice cubes
  • 1 orange slice
  • 1 maraschino cherry with stem

Steps

  • 1
In lowball glass, mix whiskey, simple syrup, water and bitters. Add ice to fill glass. Garnish with orange slice and cherry.

Tips from the Betty Crocker Kitchens

  • tip 1
Make a brandy Old-Fashioned by using brandy instead of whiskey.
  • tip 2
A teaspoon of sugar or a sugar cube can be substituted for the simple syrup. First muddle the sugar or cube in the glass with the water and bitters before adding the whiskey.
