Turkey Sausage Quiche

Press a Bisquick® mix crust in a pie plate, fill it with a quick-mix egg filling, and you'll have an oven-ready quiche.

cups Original Bisquick® mix
1/4
cup butter or margarine, softened

tablespoons boiling water

cup shredded Italian-style cheese blend (4 oz)

cup cooked turkey sausage

medium green onions, sliced (1/4 cup)

cups half-and-half

eggs

teaspoon chopped fresh basil leaves
1/4
teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne)
  • 1 Heat oven to 400°F. Spray 9-inch glass pie plate with cooking spray. In small bowl, stir Bisquick mix and butter until blended. Add boiling water; stir vigorously until soft dough forms. Press dough on bottom and up side of pie plate, forming edge on rim of pie plate.
  • 2 Sprinkle cheese, sausage and onions over crust. In small bowl, beat half-and-half and eggs with fork or wire whisk; stir in basil and red pepper. Pour into crust.
  • 3 Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.

Expert Tips

Cooked Italian sausage can be substituted for the turkey sausage.

For Ham and Cheese Quiche, use 1 cup chopped Canadian-style bacon and 1 cup shredded Swiss cheese in place of the turkey sausage and Italian-style cheese blend. Omit the basil, too.

    This was the first time I have made a quiche and this recipe worked well. I dont usually prepare a new recipe for guests before I try but took a chance and they loved it. I loved it and will keep this one for future company. YumO!
