cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour

teaspoon baking soda

teaspoon ground cinnamon

teaspoon salt

cup raisins
  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, stir together sugar, butter, molasses and eggs. Stir in remaining ingredients except raisins until well blended. Stir in raisins.
  • 2 Drop dough by rounded teaspoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 3 Bake 9 to 10 minutes or just until set. Cool 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets.

Expert Tips

If you'd rather, you can substitute 1 cup chopped nuts, chopped dates or flaked coconut for the raisins.

This was just ok. I made the mistake of following another reviwers advice and used 1/4 tsp of baking powder instead of soda. They were very cakey. I also soaked the raisins which made them nice and plump. I added butterscoth chips as well. If I decide on making them again I'd probably add nuts and use the baking powder instead.

Great! I changed to 2 c flour and added the 1/2 tsp baking POWDER as the comments suggested. Also, I used part corn syrup and part honey as I didn't have any molasses and it worked. Woo-hoo!
