cup real maple syrup or honey

cup chili sauce

tablespoons chopped fresh chives

tablespoon soy sauce

teaspoon ground mustard
1/4
teaspoon ground red pepper (cayenne), if desired

pounds (about 20) chicken drummettes
  • 1 Heat oven to 375ºF. Mix all ingredients except chicken. Place chicken in ungreased jelly roll pan, 15 1/2x10 1/2x1 inch. Pour syrup mixture over chicken; turn chicken to coat.
  • 2 Bake uncovered 45 to 55 minutes, turning once and brushing with sauce after 30 minutes, until juice of chicken is no longer pink when centers of thickest pieces are cut. Serve chicken with sauce.

Expert Tips

Marinate the drummettes in the maple syrup mixture in the refrigerator for up to 1 hour for extra flavor, using a resealable plastic food-storage bag for ease. Bake as directed.

Serve the drummettes with blue cheese dressing or chili sauce.

Very good, easy to make. Will make a little more sauce next time, though as I barely had enough to cover both sides. Otherwise, a great recipe!

These were a big hit. I cooked these according to the directions, but then put them in a ziploc bag in the fridge overnight so I could make it easier for dinner the next day. The next day, I cooked them for approx. 30 minutes and added a little extra sauce during the last 5 minutes or so. They were awesome!
