I baked 2 Betty Crocker White Cakes yesterday using 4 boxes for our sons birthday. The first cakes crumbled was hard to get out of the greased cake pans and then promptly fell apart. I thought I had done something wrong so I went and bought two more White Cake mixes from BC . I did everything the instructions said, I even used parchment paper on the second cakes to be sure the bottoms would not stick, Upon turning them out of the pan they too crumbled apart split down the middle with large cracks everywhere. when trying to transfer them to a cake plate frosting they just finished their crumbled into a big mess-I was trying so hard to save the cakes but there was nothing I could do.. ... Also has anyone else noticed that you can't make a full two layer cake from 1 box Betty Crocker cake mix? I have to use two to make what use to be a normal size layer cake. I have never had this problem before with any cakes I have baked,. Now I will either use a different bran or make them from scratch myself.. Has anyone else noticed that these New Boxes do not fill what was a normal size layer cake.. Betty Crocker has reduced the size and contents of their cake mix still charging the same price sometimes even more then the larger box cake mixes were.

Baked a milk chocolate cake mix last night. I can barely cut a slice without it falling apart. All the edges are crumbling. It was frustrating to try to frost it. Never had this problem before. Has anyone tried contacting BC about this problem?

I had the same problem as others stated. I makde a cake for my daughter's birthday party and it completely fell apart. I couldn't imagine what I did wrong. I had to run out and wound up spending $18 on a birthday cake. Very frustrating experience.

I made this cake mix last night and was so embarrassed. It crumbled so badly and didn't hold together. We needed a spoon instead of a server to serve this! What gives?

As a reply to everyone else, I use this mix for strawberry swirl cake and I use canola oil instead of olive oil. I find it turns the consistency of the cake into a firmer one so it holds together better.

This cake used to be spectacular, but now its a dry, crumby mess! There is now always a huge crack down the middle of it and the cake almost falls apart when I cut it. They also don't supply enough icing to cover the entire cake, which forces you to buy the other icing.

Tried the Betty Crocker Super Moist White Cake Mix for a birthday cake. BIG MISTAKE! Turned into a crumbly mess and total embarrassment. Something is very wrong with the ingredients of this cake mix. I feel Betty Crocker should reimburse its customers as they are selling a very bogus product.

I agree with what everyone else here is saying, the white cake mix used to be awesome, now something has changed and it's just plain garbage, Does anyone have any suggestions on what to add to the mix to make it work better, i have a few boxes left and i'm thinking i may just through them out rather than make such a awful looking cake

I agree with everyone else about the white cake mix. Dryer than it used to be. It crumbled when I tried to slice the layers in half to make a four layer cake.
