Pulled Pork Gets Sassy
Pulled pork is one of those quintessential slow-cooker meals. Here’s how to serve it in some fun and delicious ways.

Until a few years ago, I’d never had pulled pork…or anything from the barbecue genre of food. But with that first bite came a deep and devoted love of this awesome, easy dish.
Although we have a great BBQ place not far from home, I love making my own in the slow cooker. That allows me to control everything from the cut of meat I use to how it’s seasoned. And when it comes to serving it, I like to get creative. Here are a few fun ways to serve your own pulled pork masterpiece.
Top it with coleslaw. Pulled pork and coleslaw are like two peas in a pod. But instead of serving up the slaw on the side, put it on top of your pulled pork as a sandwich topping. The cool crunch from the coleslaw makes the sandwich incredibly delicious.
Add cheddar. Order a few slices of Vermont cheddar from the deli counter and put them on top of your pulled pork sandwiches. The cheddar will melt and lend a nice sharpness.
Make it a mini. Sliders are all the rage…and pulled pork sliders are a fabulous rendition. Pick up slider rolls from the grocery store or use small dinner rolls and even some tender biscuits.
Join the club. Club sandwiches are delicious…and so are pulled pork clubs! Layer pulled pork, bacon and iceberg lettuce on three slices of toasted white bread for your own double-decker delight.
Wrap it up. Forget the bread. Instead, put your pulled pork into a wrap with cheddar and bacon.
