I made this cake for my daughter's birthday. It turned out great. My daughter and the guests couldn't stop talking about it.The templates were very helpful and the video made it very easy to follow instructions. I have a couple of tips for people who want to attempt making this cake. Chill your cake in the fridge for at least 1-2 hours before you start to do the dirty icing. It doesn't say that in the video but chill your cake again after you have done the dirty icing. A word of caution when you are adding the black color in the chocolate icing DO NOT add too much black coloring. It will make the frosting bitter. I had an awesome experience making this cake. Thanks for a great recipe and video.

RE retaj1: Amounts of frosting used by different decorators can vary and if you want to decrease the amount of frosting simply just use 1 container of each chocolate and vanilla frosting. Happy baking!

Hi CHana23: To make the frosting black you will need to prepare the frosting as stated in the directions. Mix the chocolate frosting with black food coloring. Mary Kaye, one of our Kitchen Experts, said she prefers to use black food color paste which you can purchase at cake decorating stores or craft stores such as JoAnne fabrics. Using a toothpick add a small amount of the black paste to the chocolate frosting until you get the desired black you would like. Hope this helps. Sincerely, Cate
