Expert Tips

The word cookie comes from the Dutch word for cake, "koekje". The first cookies were actually tiny cakes baked as a test to make sure that the oven temperature was right for baking a larger cake.

Feeling a little nutty? Go ahead and add 1 cup coarsely chopped nuts with the chocolate chips.

Im a 16 that's hard to please but trys to watch what they eat. I enjoyed these cookies but i also made some variations to the recipe. I put a stick of butter and a 1/2 cup of oil in it instead of 2 cups of butter and i also put truvia instead of sugar. This is a healthier sugar that comes from a plant so its not aritfical like splenda. Overall good recipe.

These are really good for wheat chocolate chip cookies! My husband couldn't even tell they were wheat! They are a little too chocolaty for me so next time I would just add less chocolate chips. But they are really good.

Delicious! I added about 1 cup of chopped peanuts, 1 cup of blueberry Craisins, and 1 cup white choc chips. Yummy trail mix cookies!
