No, you don't have to turn your slow cooker upside down to enjoy this savory pot pie. Pop biscuits in the oven about 30 minutes before it's done, then serve the chicken mixture over the biscuits. Bottoms up!

1 1/4 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
1 tablespoon instant chopped onion
1 dried bay leaf
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 jar (18 oz) chicken gravy
2 medium celery stalks, cut into 1/2-inch slices
2 1/4 cups Original Bisquick® mix
2/3 cup milk
1 bag (12 oz) Green Giant® Valley Fresh Steamers™ frozen mixed vegetables
  1. Place chicken in 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker. Top with onion, bay leaf, pepper and gravy. Place celery on gravy.
  2. Cover and cook on Low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
  3. About 30 minutes before serving, make and bake 8 biscuits using Bisquick mix and milk as directed on package.
  4. Meanwhile, gently stir frozen vegetables into chicken mixture. Increase heat setting to High. Cover and cook 15 minutes. Remove bay leaf.
  5. For each serving, split biscuit and place in soup bowl or tart pan. Spoon about 3/4 cup chicken mixture on top of biscuit.

Note: This recipe was tested in slow cookers with heating elements in the side and bottom of the cooker, not in cookers that stand only on a heated base. For slow cookers with just a heated base, follow the manufacturer’s directions for layering ingredients and choosing a temperature.

Special Touch
Stir 1/4 cup white wine into the chicken mixture, and bake frozen puff pastry shells in place of the biscuits for an elegant twist.

This recipe was okay. I think next time I will make my own gravy and cook the veggies longer. Also I think I would use the refrigerated biscuits instead of making them myself since they were more complicated to make and didn't taste all that great. There was so much leftover because no one liked it.

This is a great recipe. I think the serving size is a little off. I would say this serves 4 people not 8. Unless you're having small servings it isn't accurate. I also add more gravy and 86 the onions and it turns out great !

Very tasty, family enjoyed. I used some cream of mushroom soup + water instead gravy, chicken breast, fresh onion and some random spices from the cabinet too. Came out wonderful!

This was so yummy! I would definitely cook the veggies a little more, the carrots were still crunchy (DH doesn't care for this). We made Pillsbury Southern biscuits (in the frozen section) instead of the bisquick ones which cut down on cleanup. I also added my own spices and threw in Italian seasoning, Herbes de Provence, and another bay leaf. I'll definitely be making it again!

This was wonderful!! Everyone cleaned thier plate and I did not have a lot left over. We perfer white meat so I used breast rather than thighs. I also added some salt and garlic powder. I did not have dried minced onions so I used fresh minced onion. I will be making this again soon.

We were looking for a good recipe to use for our turkey after Thanksgiving and thought this would be a good one to use. Turned out GREAT and we loved it. We use it now whenever we want turkey OR chicken. You can subsitute turkey gravy instead of chicken gravy or use the chicken gravy with the turkey. It's great either way. One of our favorites.

This is good but the veggies didn't cook in the time the recipe stated. We had to put our plates in the micro to finish them after biting into cold veggies. Next time, I will use thawed or canned veggies. Other than that, it was tasty.

I admit that I added just a few things to the recipe when making it. A bit of poultry seasoning, a can of cream of mushroom soup, some dried thyme...however, I mostly followed the recipe as it was written. It turned out very nice and we loved it! When making the biscuits, I added some dried thyme to them, as well. A nice dinner without a lot of fuss!

This was... SO GOOD! Oh my god, just absolutely delicious. I used 1 can of chicken gravy, 1 can of C. of Mushroom, added some chicken broth (since I used breasts instead of thighs) and some garlic salt+powder. DELICIOUS (and easy, too!)
