EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

Adjust the heat level by choosing mild, medium or hot salsa or ranging the level of chipotle chili powder.

Mole is a spicy Mexican sauce made with a blend of onions, garlic, a mixture of chiles and Mexican chocolate. To duplicate Mexican chocolate, this recipe contains cinnamon and cocoa powder for richness without sweetness.

Made this for dinner tonight. Didn't start it in time to put it in the crock pot so cooked it in my cast iron dutch oven on top of the stove. Great flavor. I used ground turkey instead of beef. Will definitely make this again.

This is delicious chili! The mole seasonings give it a deep, rich flavor. I used ground sirloin and think it would also be great with cubed steak or brisket.
