Chocolate-Peanut Butter Upside-Down Cake

Devil’s food cake, bananas and peanut butter jump start a classic cake recipe. Everyone will love it!

What do you think of when you hear upside-down cake? Pineapple, right? Of course you do. It’s a classic found at many family gatherings. But guess what? It doesn’t have to mean just pineapple upside-down cake. Not at all. This beauty has gone to the dark side. Dark chocolate that is. And it includes peanut butter and bananas. How’s that for turning the recipe upside down?

You start with buttery sugary goodness. Then you add something to balance it out–bananas. You could just stop there, but why? Add a few random dollops of peanut butter and top it with a Betty classic: devil’s food cake. Then pop it into your oven. An hour later, you’ll flip it over and watch as that sauce drips down the platter.

Go ahead and grab your forks. And don’t forget to get every last drop of that sauce!

Blogger Paula Jones from Bell'alimento shows us how to make a new kind of upside-down cake.
