We don’t mind the occasional take-out dinner in our house, but when it comes to pizza, nothing beats homemade. From the crust to the toppings, it’s all about personalization, and homemade pizza is an easy go-to meal when time is short and hungry mouths are gathering in the kitchen.
For the crust, we use a variety of different methods, from Bisquick mix and Betty Crocker’s pizza packet, to pita or naan bread. But the most popular by far is that cheesy stuffed-crust variety, just like the popular pizza joints deliver.
It's easy to make. Just press your pizza dough out on a flat pizza plan, stretching as wide as possible so you have about 1 inch extending over the edges of the pizza pan. Sprinkle about 1 inch of your favorite cheese around the edge of the pan and roll the crust over. Press to seal.
The sauce? Marinara all the way, baby.
And as for the toppings? That’s where we get personal. My son loves sliced black olives on his, but my daughter? Not so much. Give me anything but anchovies, and I’m a happy camper.
By making pizza at home, it’s a snap to prepare small personal pizzas for the kids, that plays to their likes, and delivers a pie which is low on prep time and high on flavor. Homemade pizza is tastier and quicker than a pie delivered from our local pizza joint, and when you stuff the crust, just as popular. It gets a thumbs-up all around the table.
Easily cater to your family’s individual tastes by making homemade pizza pies for a fun family night.
