1/2: bottle (64-ounce size) apple cider

2: cups orange juice

2: tablespoons red cinnamon candies

1 1/2: teaspoons whole allspice

1: tablespoon plus 1 1/2 teaspoons honey

Save $$$ on your favorite brands

1 Heat apple cider, orange juice, candies and allspice to boiling; reduce heat. Cover and simmer 5 minutes.
2 Remove allspice. Stir in honey. Serve warm.

Expert Tips

Allspice is also known as Jamaica pepper. These dried berries got their name because they taste like a combination of cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.

Be sure to buy whole allspice berries instead of ground. You can put them in a tea ball or tie them up in a piece of cheesecloth for easy removal.

We didn't have whole allspice, so I substituted 1/8 tsp of ground. I also forgot to add the honey, but this still went over really well. The flavor was intense and sweet, and everyone was surprised by the vibrant orange-red color.
