jar (25.5 oz) Muir Glen® organic pasta sauce (any variety)

cup water

teaspoon garlic salt
1 1/2
lb uncooked chicken breast tenders (not breaded)

uncooked manicotti shells (8 oz)

cups shredded mozzarella cheese (8 oz)
Chopped fresh basil leaves, if desired
  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. In medium bowl, mix pasta sauce and water. Spread about 1/3 of the pasta sauce mixture in ungreased 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish.
  • 2 Sprinkle garlic salt on chicken. Insert chicken into uncooked manicotti shells, stuffing from each end of shell to fill if necessary. Place shells on pasta sauce in baking dish. Pour remaining pasta sauce evenly over shells, covering completely. Cover with foil.
  • 3 Bake about 1 hour or until chicken is no longer pink in center and shells are tender. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake uncovered about 5 minutes or until cheese is melted. Sprinkle with basil.

    Just made this dish, and it turned out to be very delicious. I did follow some of the suggestions that I read. I cooked the chicken tenders and chopped them. I then added riccotti cheese and a little mozz. cheese,covered with sauce and foil. In 1 hr. I uncovered it and added cheese, 10 mins later we were eating. I will make it again.

    Very easy to make, although I wasn't a big fan of handling the raw chicken that much. The pasta came out a little chewy even though I added a can of tomatoes, thinking that the extra liquid would help the pasta cook more. I will make this again, but will add more liquid and more spices. I had 2 shells left after I had stuffed in all the chicken so I made a quick mixture of cottage cheese (I didn't have any ricotta), shredded cheddar and Italian spices and stuffed them with that - I think it was even better than the chicken!
