I've been making these for a few years now and they are a staple in our house! They are my husband's favorite cookie...We usually use the devil's food mix, but we've also tried several other kinds. They all come out delicious! I also like to add about 1/8 tsp. of almond extract to the recipe...it makes them taste so yummy...not to mention, the smell of the house while they are baking!

I have been making these for several years at Christmas, I too accidently mixed the sugar into the mix and I always add white chocolate chips. I would be in big trouble if I did not make these every year for my children, they love them!

These cookies are wonderful, lightly crispy but fudgy and chewy on the inside. I love the sugar coating. Reminds me of the chocolate cookies I loved when I was a kid. I also made them with a sugar free chocolate cake mix, and they were good too, a little after taste but as a diabetic I'm used to that. The texture was the same, that's what I was wanted, SF baked goods are hard to get with a toothsome texture.
