Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 1/2 cups packed light brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 cups coarsely crushed peanut brittle (about 14 oz)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

    Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with shortening; lightly flour.

    In medium bowl, mix 2 1/2 cups flour, the baking powder and salt; set aside. In 2-quart saucepan, cook brown sugar and butter over medium heat, stirring frequently, until butter is melted. Remove from heat; cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating until blended after each addition. Stir in flour mixture. Stir in peanut brittle and vanilla. Press dough in baking dish.

    Bake 25 minutes or until golden. Cool completely in pan on cooling rack. Cut into 6 rows by 4 rows.
