Cream Cheese Filling
1
package (3 oz) cream cheese, softened
1
tablespoon granulated sugar
1
tablespoon milk
Danish
2
cups Original Bisquick® mix
1/4
cup butter or margarine, softened
2
tablespoons granulated sugar
2/3
cup milk
Vanilla Glaze
3/4
cup powdered sugar
1
tablespoon warm water

teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 Heat oven to 450°F. Lightly grease cookie sheet with shortening or cooking spray. In small bowl, mix filling ingredients until smooth; set aside.
  • 2 In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, butter and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar until crumbly. Stir in 2/3 cup milk until dough forms; beat with spoon 15 strokes.
  • 3 On cookie sheet, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart. Make a shallow well in center of each with back of spoon; fill each with about 1 teaspoon filling.

These are good w/ a little tweaking.I found 450 degrees too high as the bottoms were starting to brown too much before the rest was even done.so i will try at 400 next time. I've made a very similar recipe using crescent rolls baking at 375 and those turned out well. Also would make more filling, perhaps adding another half of what it calls for.

I have made Easy Dorp Danish for years but this is a new tweak. I was looking for a way to make cheese danish...now I have it. I will use fat-free cream cheese and splenda but this is just terrific. I will be taking them with me when a friend and I go to a meeting in Spokane next weekend.
