I wanted to make these dumplings to go with the chicken-vegetable soup I made for my daughter, who is recovering from heart problems. I was sooo disappointed to find that Bisquick still has trans fats in it, so I had to forget about using Bisquick to make them. Please use healthy fats (no partially hydrogenated fats or oils) for the sake of people who are concerned about their--and their loved ones'--heart health. Thanks.

These are the best dumplings ever. I have had my Bisquick recipe book since 1978 and it is the most treasured recipe book in my collection. Thanks Bisquick...:)

I use this recipe but like my mother did, she used Milnot in lieu of the milk, the leftover Milnot she took a "silver" knife and stuck it in the middle of the pot and poured the remaining Milnot down the knife, then covered the pot and did NOT peek, cook for 10 minutes, remove the cover, if still doughy continue to cook for no more than 10 minutes more. I have never had these dumplings fail and I have no idea why the "silver" knife, but heck why question something that works.
