Chocolate Chip-Pecan Pie Bars

1 1/2cups Original Bisquick® mix
1cup powdered sugar
1/4cup firm butter or margarine
4eggs, beaten
1cup dark corn syrup
1/4cup butter or margarine, melted, cooled
1teaspoon vanilla
1cup semisweet chocolate chips (6 oz)
1 1/2cups chopped pecans (6 oz)
1.Heat oven to 350°F. In medium bowl, mix Bisquick mix and powdered sugar. Cut in firm butter, using pastry blender (or pulling 2 table knives through ingredients in opposite directions), until crumbly. Press firmly in bottom of 13x9-inch pan. Bake 15 minutes; cool.
2.In large bowl, beat eggs, corn syrup, melted butter and vanilla with spoon until smooth. Stir in chocolate chips and pecans. Pour over crust.
3.Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and set. Refrigerate at least 2 hours until chocolate is firm. For bars, cut into 6 rows by 6 rows.
High Altitude (3500-6500 ft): Increase Bisquick mix to 1 3/4 cups. Bake crust 20 minutes. In step 3, bake 30 to 35 minutes.

Use the size of pan specified in the recipe. Bars made in a larger pan will be dry and overbaked; those made in a smaller pan will be underbaked.

Buy a bag of already-chopped pecans to save on prep time.
