I made 2 seperate pans. I made half the batter with blueberry pie filling and the other half of the batter with apple pie filling. I also read the other's reviews and used doulbe the pie filling (so 21oz per pan) and decided to add applesauce to the batter in the hope that it wouldn't be dry. This turned out like a biscuit with fruit on it. However, after 2 days it was less dry-maybe because of the fruit soaking into the bread. But this is not a fabulous coffee cake for me. I need to keep looking.

Made this tonight! Very good. Made it with rf bisquick,ff milk, egg sub and lemon filling. I used van. and lemon flavor. Also added a 1/4 cup applesauce. Did need more cooking time even though I 1/2 the recipe. Very moist. Would do it again!!!!<3

Possible goofs on this...a 15" baking pan??? I used a 12 x 9-3/4 casserole pan. Plus,no way one can of pie filling would handle this....common sense - 4 c. Bisquick to 1 can of filling??? Well, I'm glad I had a huge jar of tart cherries in juice. I drained and added them to a can of pie filling. Thank goodness! I believe your photo must have been taken using the 9" pan with 1 can of filling....not your suggestion of preserves! Also, had to spray my hand with cooking spray in order to spread the bottom layer of batter. I will probably only make this again if I need a take along or perhaps do the 9" next time instead. Hubby who loves anything cherry and not overly sweet, loved it. It was just ok to me.

This is so easy and so good. It is better than a store bought coffee cake! We have a small family so I cut the recipe in half and it turns out great every time. I add extra pie filling, yum!

This is a poor excuse for coffee cake. Is it possible that the ingredients are listed incorrectly. The "batter" is more like a thick dough and difficult to spread. The resulting coffee cake is dry and not terribly inviting to eat. Would not make this again.

I replaced the sugar with Splenda and the glaze also. I used sugar free cherry or apple pie filling. My husband who is diabetic though he died and went to heaven. It takes less time to bake,so keep a eye on it.

Made this using apple pie filling. I did add about 1/2 cup of applesauce to the dough. Turned out beautiful and delicious!

I have been making this cake for over 30 years and it never fails! Sometimes I add sliced or slivered almonds on top, but it's fine without them, too. You can't mess this up.

I followed the instructions and the flavor turned out good, however the dough was quite dry. It was almost like a cornbread texture. I think I am going to try adding a bit of applesauce to the dough to moisten it up next time without adding the fat.
