cups Gold Medal® Better for Bread™ flour

teaspoons bread machine or quick active dry yeast
  • 1 Measure carefully, placing all ingredients in bread machine pan in the order recommended by the manufacturer.
  • 2 Select Sweet or Basic/White cycle. Use Light crust color. Do not use delay cycle. Remove baked bread from pan, and cool on wire rack.

Bread flour has more protein than all-purpose flour, so it gives a sturdy structure to baked goods. Cake and pastry flours—which have less protein than all-purpose flour—don’t work as well in bread baking.

Measuring ingredients carefully is especially important in bread machine recipes. For perfect loaves, you need to use exactly what the recipes call for.

This bread is the best bread machine classic white bread recipe i have made. the texture is closer to store bought bread than most recipes. It is nothing like a pound cake as the description states though.

Wonderful recipe!!!! I use this recipe to make the bread so as to use for French Toast! My family asks for it all the time and what a sinch to make with the breadmaker and leftovers are rare.

This bread came out super light and delicious. (Not pound cake tasting though-it tasted like bread). This is the easiest bread I've ever made. Love how I can throw it all in the bread machine before going back to work after lunch and walk in the door after work to fresh baked bread (and slow cooker stew!!)
