box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® cake mix (any flavor)
Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box

to 36 flat-bottom ice cream cones
1
container Betty Crocker® Whipped frosting (any white variety)
Assorted candies and decorations, if desired
  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Make cake batter as directed on box. Fill 12 cones about half full of batter. Stand cones in muffin pan. Refrigerate any leftover batter until ready to fill and bake remaining cones.
  • 2 Bake 21 to 26 minutes or until toothpick carefully inserted in center of cupcake comes out clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • 3 Frost with frosting and decorate. Store loosely covered.

I made these but instead of the cones, I just put the cupcakes by themselves. I brought them toa barbeque and everyone loved them. Also, if you put regular white icing on half of it, it can look like sand. You can get a skinny pretzel stick and green spice drop to make a palm tree. With the green spice drop, just smush it down and cut little triangles out pointing in.

RE dawn875: Any sort of cardboard box can be used such as a shirt or cereal box. Use the bottom 1/2 of a shirt box or cut off one large side of the cereal box. Cut holes into the large part of the box by tracing around the bottom of an ice cream cone or making a pattern, then stand it upside down. Place the cupcakes into each hole and place on a large towel or something secure to keep the box from shifting as you drive. An egg carton could also be used by cutting holes in each slot as long as it is free of egg residue to prevent salmonella poisoning.
