1 1/2
cups cut-up cooked turkey
1/3
cup chili sauce
2
tablespoons honey
1
teaspoon soy sauce
1/4
teaspoon red pepper sauce
1
small onion, sliced and separated into rings
1 1/2
cups Original Bisquick® mix
1/3
cup cold water
1
cup shredded mozzarella cheese (4 ounces)
  • 1 Heat oven to 375ºF. Stir together turkey, chili sauce, honey, soy sauce, pepper sauce and onion; set aside.
  • 2 Stir Bisquick mix and cold water until dough forms; beat 20 strokes. Pat dough into rectangle, 12x6 inches, on ungreased cookie sheet with hands dusted with Bisquick mix; pinch edge, forming 1/2-inch rim. Spoon turkey mixture onto dough.
  • 3 Bake 25 to 30 minutes or until edge of crust is light brown. Immediately sprinkle with cheese.

Expert Tips

Try sharp Cheddar cheese—instead of the mozzarella—for a different flavor experience.

Honey crystallizes when refrigerated, forming a gooey, grainy mess. Store honey instead in an airtight container in a dry place at room temperature for up to a year.

Next time you roast a turkey, bone it, cut up the meat and freeze in 1 1/2-cup portions. Then you can thaw out the turkey for recipes such as this one!

Desperate for something quick that my kids would like, I tried this recipe. I used precooked packaged turkey pieces and bottled BBQ sauce because I feared the chili sauce might be too spicy for my kids. We all loved it!!! I considered it a brillant way to make chicken or turkey more interesting. It certainly was easy to make.
