Monkey Birthday Menu

There’s no shortage of monkey-themed foods to go around with this menu—from monkey bread to a monkey-face cake.

Inside these bags are peanut butter and banana sandwiches with a special surprise—sprinkles! Start with a slice of bread, slather on the peanut butter, add banana slices and top with sprinkles and another piece of bread. For extra fun we cut the sandwiches into circles and used a fork to crimp the edges. Tip: If you’re sealing the edges, a loaf of soft white bread works best.

When stalks of celery are cut thin and left to soak in ice water, they begin to curl and resemble monkey tails. While the celery is soaking, fill the bottom of small glasses with a dollop of peanut butter or ranch dressing. Add the celery to the glasses just before guests arrive, and enjoy a fun twist on the usual veggie platter.

What could be cuter than chocolate-dipped bananas on a stick? Mini chocolate-dipped bananas on a stick covered in sprinkles! To make these extra-easy monkey tails, first peel the mini bananas and insert the wooden sticks then place in the freezer. While the bananas are freezing, melt chocolate and white chocolate candy according to the package directions. Once the bananas are firm, dip them into the chocolates and immediately add sprinkles. Pop back into the freezer until guests arrive.

Monkey bread becomes party perfect when it’s dished out in single servings—and our recipe for Monkey Bread Minis doesn’t disappoint! We baked ours right in the pan then flipped and added to these pretty paper cups once they had cooled slightly.

Who can resist this Cute Monkey Cake made with Betty Crocker cake mix, ready-made frosting and chocolate candies? With two cupcakes as ears, it’s both adorable and easy to make. Ready, set, frost!

Monkey Party Downloads

We’ve got everything you need to get the party started, beginning with these free, downloadable sweet monkey invitations. Print them at home and slip into A7-size envelopes. There are also banana tags (like we used on our sandwich bags), leaf tags and easy-to-cut oval labels!

Monkey Party Décor

Turn ordinary party hats into cheeky monkey hats by gluing on ears. We created ours from two colors of craft foam—found at a craft store—cut into half circles and affixed using a hot glue gun. These ears look equally as cute adorning paper cups!

We kept our place settings simple with a linen tablecloth, mix-and-match disposable plates and silverware, and store-bought bottles of lemonade.

Monkey Party Favors

Send guests home with a party hat on their head and a monkey bar in hand. These favors are as easy as printing our free monkey bar wrappers and taping around a Nature Valley Granola Bar. We used the classic Oats n’ Honey flavor, but any variety will work great!
