Some things just keep getting better. Take that sure-fire favorite--Mom’s green bean casserole. No doubt, her version tasted good, rich and creamy. (And my brothers and I just couldn’t keep from snitching those fried onions off the top!) However, the classic casserole wasn’t the most nutritious way to get us kids to eat the vegetables we needed.
But now, a new take on this beloved dish is in the can (pardon the pun)! Progresso® Vegetable Classics Creamy Mushroom Soup makes a lighter, fresher-tasting dish when tossed with Green Giant’s green bean steamers, colorful pimentos and freshly grated parmesan cheese.
Instead of the fried onions, the dish is topped with a light, crusty panko topping (which, I confess, is equally good snitched off the top).
