Whole-grain cereal, eggs whites instead of whole eggs and fat-free yogurt set this banana bread apart.

Although this bread is not a whole grain, I must say that I am impressed with it. I even like the fact that it uses Total which has iron in it, that many people need more of in their diet. I think it is a really good bread, but just needs to be renamed.

Used whole wheat flower, as all have mentioned, is really missing and odd that it is from a whole grain recipe! Regardless, it came out excellent. A few changes I would highly recommend: I used Splenda and no sugar. If you do that, know that Splenda bakes faster than sugar so it is a good idea to spray a bit of PAM on top of dough. Also, I split the amount of yogurt (used greek yogurt-much smoother and thicker and higher in protein) and added low fat sour cream for other half (1/3 cup each). Great flavor I must say although a bit more moist than you many expect from a banana bread. I also added chopped walnuts for texture, flavor, and more nutrients. I left out the cereal as the crunch comes from the walnuts. Overall, a really good, healthy recipe for the family.

I agree - you cannot call a bread whole grain if it includes white flour - bleached or unbleached... False advertising.

Sorry to see that your company claims a "whole grain" recipe with white flour in it. Please have your chefs and marketing team go back to the kitchen & drawing board for a truly "whole grain" quick bread. Certainly their creativity and ingenuity will come up with a tasty recipe utilizing a number of your products. I have been making whole-grain wheat, corn & rye (no white flour) yeast breads and quick breads for years. Thank you.

I am appalled that you would make something that states "Whole-Grain" and then put unbleached white flour in it! If you are going to do whole grain why not be seriously healthy and put in whole wheat flour, whole spelt flour or whole wheat pastry flour even...it has more gluten to help the texture. This is the kind of fallacy that makes people believe they are doing something good for themselves and their family and it is still white flour! White processed food is simply not good for us!

I used vanilla yogurt and eliminated the vanilla extract. It is pretty tasty - a bit chewy. I made the mistake of not following the instructions for greasing only the bottom of the pan, so the bottom and sides of my loaves were pretty tough. But I'm sure if I did it right it would be better since the flavor and overall consistency of the loaf was pretty good.

i make this bread almost weekly or whenever i see three ripe bananas. I have been known to swipe them from counters in other peoples houses. It is delicious and easy to make. I found it browns fast in my oven so i switched to true convection and cook it at 325 for less than 50 minutes. I also switched the brown sugar for splenda brown sugar mix (3/4 cup) as we are diabetics and this makes an amazing breakfast or snack for us. easy, delicious and diabetic friendly.
