I thought these would be wonderful but was somewhat disappointed in the end result. They did however, turn out as beautiful as the picture! =) I followed the recipe exactly but the wafers had a slight crispiness to them. Is that right? Looking at the photo and directions I don't think I expected that. And a few wafers I rolled a little to thick. No biggie, as most turned out perfect. When it came time to assemble them, I wanted something more in the pink stuff, filling. So, I added some cream cheese, 1/2 a block, 4 oz. Just looking at these I pictured tasting cream cheese. And that definitely helped but still not quite as yummy as I thought these would be. Maybe with Valentine's Day being the finale of my holiday baking which began in Oct. maybe I'm just baked out. So I may try these once more but definitely WITH Cream Cheese. Everything's better with Cream Cheese! =)

A delicious cookie from the always-reliable Betty Crocker. The recipe isn't as time consuming as other reviewers have noted. It takes about two hours of actual work time, but (if followed properly) it results in a melt-in-your mouth cookie with lovely flavor. The only critique I have is that the assembly of the sandwiches is challenging because the cookie is delicate and can easily break.

I have been making these for years! They are absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious! Everyone who tries them loves them! They are very time consumong and delicate, but they are sooooo worth it. To help keep the thickness consistent, I bought a 1/8" square dowel, cut it in half, and roll the dough between them.

THESE ARE THE BEST! I've always made these cookies at Christmas but I Love the idea of making Valentine hearts. The are worth the time and effort for a really special treat. It's like Grandma's pie crust with sugar and then the best butter cream frosting inbetween!!

The BEST cookie ever! However, they the most time consuming cookie to make. Make a triple batch (strong mixer required) using up the entire carton of whipping cream. For every occasion, I use a shot glass to cut them into rounds. Use a pastry bag to pipe the icing between the layers - saves time. These are the favorite cookie for husband and two sons.
