I made this [easy] Three-Berry Trifle last weekend. And the weekend before. It looked so beautiful I had to take a picture. Thanks Betty! I substituted angel food for regular cake to save a few calories. http://twitpic.com/5tnl3o

To: msuchocki So basically, you're saying you didn't actually make this at all, so how can rate it? You changed the cake and added pudding, so this wasn't the recipe after all, was it? You ought to try actually making the recipe before you rate it. It's always annoying to read somebody critiquing a recipe that they never really made. You can'r comment on how good it is if you don't actually make it. By the way...the recipe as is was awesome. TY

Made this for a high school graduation party this weekend....during the 4th of July holiday. It was a big hit and so easy to put together. I substituted angel food cake for the the box cake mix to save calories and mixed vanilla pudding with the cool whip to make it serve a few more people.

This is a great recipe and I am looking forward to my raspberry crop to use in it. Just a note to the person who ran out of Cool Whip...the recipe calls for 1 c whipping cream which will whip up to more than a cup of cream. Substituting Cool Whip works but the amount must be doubled, at least, and the powdered sugar would then be eliminated.

I have made a variety of this for years try using a spice cake or pumpkin muffins and pumpkin pudding (available during fall holidays) and cheesecake pudding and chocolate chips/heath bits between layers and layers of cool whip topped nuts. REALLY YUMMY

This is the first trifle I have ever made and it turned out great! It's nice and light and the flavors are great together. I added a few chocolate chips in between the layers. The only problem I had was that I didn't have enough cool whip--The recipe calls for 1 cup but I used almost an entire container of cool whip. Would definitely make again!

I made this for my husbands 30th surprise party and it was eaten up in minutes. I only got a tinny bit. I didnt add the juice/liquor simply because i forgot to buy it. And it didnt need it!

We used this recipe as a basic concept for out trifle. Since it is early April the only berries available in our grocery store were strawberries so we used frozen blueberries and frozen blackberries. We also decided to use frozen pound cake so it wouldn''t become soggy as the berries thawed. We followed the recipe using these alternative ingredients in their frozen state. It sat in the refrigerator for about 4 hours but we served it slightly frozen. It was pretty to look at and delicious to eat. We can hardly wait for the berry season to begin here in Oregon so we can make the recipe as originally written.
