This is in response to the review by Missy32-69 and anyone else looking for the original recipe calling for the unsweetened strawberry drink mix. White/strawberry cake mix 1T.+ 2 tsp.(5 limes)grated lime peel 3/4 C. water Frosting: 15oz. white frosting 0.14oz. strawberry Kool Aid packet 1.5 tsp. rum extract 3/4 tsp. rum extract 8 strawberries (garnish) 3 eggs Preheat 350 degree oven. Spray bottom only of 9x13 pan. In lg. bowl, beat 1st 5 and 1T. lime peel on low for 30 seconds. Increase to med. speed & beat 2 min. Pour into pan. Bake 30-35 min. or until toothpick pulls clean from center. Cool completely (about 1 hr.). Remove foil from frosting & microwave 20-30 seconds on High or until pourable. Stir in extract and 2 tsp. lime peel. Spread evenly over cake. Before serving, cut berries in half, leaving greens on. Top each slice with berry half. Store loosely covered at room temp. Yield: 12 servings

Great Cake!!!! I made cupcakes with this and used a strawberry cake mix instead of the white because I really like strawberrys. I couldn't find the size of box by serving size so I got the 6 oz. box and it was great. I also added a little rum extract to the frosting. It was sooooo good!!! Even the kids liked them.

I left out the rum extract and used Cream Cheese frosting instead of vanilla. The result was a Sonic Strawberry Limeade Chiller cake instead of a Daquiri cake, and it was delicious.

Is it just me, or does the picture have pieces of strawberry on the bottom of the cake? Doesn't even look appetizing.

LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!! i have made this cake a few times an every ones loves it..this cake is super moist an flavorful. I like to put my own twist on it by making a glaze with powder sugar, rum, and lime juice. Poor it over the cake then add the frosting. Just delicious...

It is really hard to decide wether to make this or not with all of the reviews because all of them are either REALLY REALLY HATEING IT or REALLY REALLY LOVE IT>>>> I am always up for a challenge so having seen the reviews saying its not to strong of the strawberry I think I will use Strawberry cake mix instead of just a White mix so It will have more of that flavor and Key lime is usually a little stonger then just regular lime so we will go with Key Lime instead
