1
box Betty Crocker® SuperMoist® yellow cake mix
1
cup graham cracker crumbs (14 squares)
1
cup water
1/2
cup sour cream
1/3
cup vegetable oil
3
eggs
1
jar (16 to 17 oz) hot fudge or chocolate topping (not chocolate syrup)
1
jar (7 oz) marshmallow creme
1
cup Betty Crocker® Whipped fluffy white frosting
  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease or spray bottom only of 13x9-inch pan. In large bowl, beat cake mix, cracker crumbs, water, sour cream, oil and eggs with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Pour into pan.
  • 2 Reserve 1/4 cup hot fudge topping. Drop remaining hot fudge topping by generous tablespoonfuls randomly in 12 to 14 mounds onto batter in pan.
  • 3 Bake 40 to 46 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Run knife around side of pan to loosen cake. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • 4 In medium bowl, stir together marshmallow creme and frosting. Frost cake with marshmallow frosting. Drop small dollops of reserved hot fudge topping randomly over frosting. Swirl topping through frosting with knife for marbled design. Store loosely covered.

Expert Tips

Buy graham cracker crumbs instead of crushing graham crackers. Look for the crumbs in the baking section of the grocery store.

Didn't taste anything like smores, wasn't pleasing to look at after I was done and I followed the recipe exactly. Taste wasn't that great and the family was only a little partial to it. We ended up not finishing it and throwing it out. Won't make again.

With this wonderful desert, everyone is my family loved it. I am going to have to make it for a family reunion. I also kind of chaanged the recipe a little. I put the marshmellow creme in the middle of it, and also a little bit of the chocolate topping. It was AMAZING that way. I would just change the marshmellow creme to actual marshmellows next time. And I Crumbled the graham crackers on the top too, drizzling the chocolate toipping on top of those. I would have changed that topping to the ice cream chocolate shell topping though. It weould have stayed where I drizzled it, not running over the top. But it was still really really good no matter what. To the novices out there, you can try to experiment with other topping if you dont know what the topping actually are, or iof you dont want to have those. Like instead of the fudge or chocolate topping, use a little bit of chocolate milk syrup. It works the same. :)
