Very tasty! This was a recommendation from a friend, and I tried it and loved it! Sometimes I will add shredded cheddar cheese to the top of the soup, or garlic croutons. It's a perfect wintertime dish!

I was very excited to make the soup and very upset with the results. After blending the soup in the blender it came out very watery and not thick at all. Next time I will not blend any of it.

Made this yesterday and it was delicious. Used chicken broth and water (half and half). Used smoked ham instead of the bacon. Couldn't find the yellow peas so used the green. Will make again, it was so easy to make.

Followed the instructions to the letter as I was making this for the first time. The instructions didn't call for soaking the split peas & I didn't but the peas, (even after 10+ hours in the slow cooker) were not soft. It really effected the enjoyment of this dish. The seasonings were a bit "off" as well. The rosemary was the most dominant spice. Still searching for a great slow cooker pea soup recipe I'm afraid!

Absolutely loved this soup. Used yellow & green peas & smoked ham hocks, I added no addition salt, hocks had enough. When the soup was done I removed the hock and blended with my immersion blender. Couldn't have been easier. My husband generally does not like pea soup but ate this. It's a keeper.

I'm not sure if the canadain bacon was super flat in flavor or what happened. I made this soup with great disappointment. My husband suggested I use a ham bone and some ham next time.

I LOVED this soup! 2 changes: 4 cups chicken stock and 4 cups water - just the right amount of saltiness; and pureed 3 cups and added it back to the pot - the best of both worlds of thickness and texture. For those whose attempts did not go so well - try it again! It is worth it.

I've made this soup over and over again, always with high compliments. It's very easy to make, especially if you use a food processor to chop your onions, carrots and celery. In addition to the listed ingredients, I also add 1 tablesoon of chicken stock (my personal staple in everything!), 1/2 tsp basil, 3 shakes of curry and 1/2 cup of barley. I also like to saute the onions together with the carrots and celery before adding to the crockpot for a nice, rich flavor. Good stuff!!

This soup is such a great treat that I've made it over and over again, always with high-fives! I find that sauting the onions and veggies in olive oil first gives a nice extra flavor. I also like to add 1/2 cup of barley, 1 T chicken stock (my all-around favorite staple), 1/2 tsp basil and 3 shakes of curry. The curry is a particularly nice twist :-) My husband asks for it over and over! A+++
