This recipe was excellent! I used fire roasted dice tomatoes, and instead of frozen onion I chopped and added half a frozen one, also add 2 tsp of cumin. Serve with lime tostitos...yummy!

I made this meal for my family tonight and it was a huge hit! Instead of using the onions, I used new potatoes cut into 4ths. I did use onion, just not the bag of onions the recipe called for. Great meal on a cold night.

Great and easy! Made a few tweaks with the ingredients. Used canned diced tomatoes with green chili peppers, used 1.5 bags of taco seasoning and also browned the stew meat first. Topped with shredded Mexican cheese and served in sourdough bread bowls. First time using a slow cooker. This recipe is a keeper.

Tried this recipe today and it was good. I liked the fact it is a on pot dinner. I did not have the pearl onions so I used regular yellow onion chopped. Next time I will add another can of black beans and corn just to make it a little hartier.

Very good! I cooked it in my Nesco roaster for about 2 hours and then put it on flour tortillas. It also made good leftovers.

We have made this stew several times and with a few slight tweaks it becomes excellent. We added two envelopes of taco seasoning and a can of mild green chilis to the basic receipe and it seemed to add just enough additional spice to make it really good.

This is a good basic recipe; however, I felt it needed something more...although it was definitely tasty, it still lacked something. Next time I make it (or have my wife make it) I will braise the meat, saute it in garlic and onions; add salt because I think this may have been the 'missing ingredient' and then top off with Fritos or crumbled corn tortilla chips. Hopefully, that will bring it all together!
