I made this for the Superbowl party and it didn't last very long. I think I will try the reduced sodium taco seasoning next time and diced jalapenos for some kick. It thought this recipe was a little too salty for me but still very good. I think I ate most of it.

My husband I absolutely love this dip!!! It has become a staple in our home. We add cooked ground turkey to the refried beans layer and toss some jalapenos on it for some heat. Awesome recipe.

Made this for a ladies Christmas party at church. It looked fabulous in the shallow oval pottery dish I used, and tasted great!

Cream cheese? Haven't tried that one! Try mixing some taco seasoning into a tub of sour cream instead. This is great for parties! I usually forget what the 7-layers are and end up with extra like sliced black olives, fresh tomatoes, and even a layer of guacamole (be sure to put it in between so it doesn't brown.) Thanks for the reminder!

I have loved this for years and I have never had one single person NOT rave over it. Years ago, I used to soak and cook pinto beans and mash them myself.. because back then they were made with lard, but now a days we can buy them lard free.

Found this recipe this morning and made it for an ornament exchange party tonight. Not only was it delicious, but so pretty! Will be using this one again and again.

This was SO good! The taco seasoning really added a lot of extra flavor. It does not get watery like other 7 layer dips I have had. Highly recommend!

I didn't like this. I have had much better 7-layer dips. I think there were too many strong flavors going on--from the taco seasoning, green chiles, and salsa. Maybe if I would have used less taco seasoning or only fresh tomatoes...
