This is a great base dish. Add some veggies and meat and you have a whole meal. Quick tip: I buy the vermicelli already broken up at my local grocer. One less step and uniform pieces. If you can't find it in the pasta aisle, check the international food aisle.

Deeee-lish!! My kids asked for more, more, more! I did use butter instead of olive oil but we just went on a longer bike ride to work it off :)

My grandson loves rice and pasta. He really liked this dish. I agree it does remind me of Rice a Roni. I will be taking this to our church, it will make a big enought dish to pass around.
