Eat cake instead of pumpkin pie! Made easier with a cake mix and baked in a pan everyone has, this dessert feeds a crowd!

I love how easy this recipe was AND how delicious it turned out. The crust on top is my favorite part! We need more recipes like this one!

I made this a month before thanksgiving to test it out for our thanksgiving dessert, well it was such a sucess that I posted it on Facebook to share it with my friends. One friend who saw it on facebook also baked it just before thanksgiving and liked it so much she also took it to a family thanksgiving dinner and has now shared the recipe with a number of people. This recipe is a keeper. It is so easy to make, I just baked it again today and did not have any pecans so used walnuts instead and it is just as goood.

Can't say enough!! HUGE hit anywhere I take it. I found that an entire box of cake mix was a bit much so I only use a little more than half on top of my dessert. Spice cake seems to win in my house for the topping of choice. I also finely chopped a portion of the pecans so that they cook in to the batter a bit. Enjoy!!

Took it to a church potluck. It was a hit. So I made it for my circle tonight. I just finished sending it to about 8 people. One comment is that it is better than pumpkin pie. I think it combines pumpkin and pecan pie without the crust. Easy to make and extra delicious. Thanks.

I made this for a small family Thanksgiving dinner. Since most of my children and spouses are "healthy" eaters, they didn't care for this very rich dessert. I thought it was very tasty but had 90% of it left over. So I have frozen it and plan on taking it to an upcoming church potluck. Has anyone tried this? I will just let it thaw slowly in the refrigerator. Will let you all know how it does.

This was awesome. Upgrade to pumkin pie. Used spice cake mix. Did not have pumkin pie spice, so I used Nutmeg, Cinamon and Allspice. Will do again for Christmas.

I make lots of pumpkin desserts. This is one of the easiest and tastiest. I use spice cake mix. Never have pumpkin pie spice, so, I mix allspice, ginger, nutmeg and cinnamon together and use in place of it. I use milnot because it is fat free. I can never find fat free carnation milk. Be sure to spread the butter evenly over the dry cake mix and add the nuts. I also sprinkle a little cinnamon into the nuts or over the top. Almost everyone who isn't crazy about pumpkin pie loves this.
