I felt like this recipe was too dry and needed some sauce or something liquid. I didn't really like it.

this is a great recipe. I used fresh red & yellow peppers instead of the frozen & used 1/2 tsp. onion powder sprinkled on the drained meat instead of frozen onions. (I hate chopping onions.) I used heart smart bisquick & skim milk for the topping. (Every calorie saved is, well, a calorie saved.) I used a little less than 3/4 cup of cheese but next time will use reduced fat cheddar. Definitely a keeper...I'm originally from the Phila. area so can attest to the pretty close taste of a real Philly cheese steak.

I used Steak-Ums like previous comments and a variety of shredded cheeses that I had on hand. Since my husbands retirement he has been helping me cook. (he is a quick student) This recipe was definitely a keeper. It made to much for just the two of us. I froze half of it in a plastic bag. Dose anyone have an idea as to how to thaw in reheat it. My husband has been asking for it.

I was very interested in the is recipe, so I made is with the what I had on hand. I use a 24 oz. box of Steak-Ums which I broke up, fried and drained. As for the cheese, (I HATE cheese that comes in a jar) I used Velveeta and some mozarella that I had on hand and wanted to use up. My husband and I just gobbled it up!!! It really had the Philly Steak taste. I will try this with hamburger the next time, and maybe had some banana peppers also

I'm a little curious as to why people will review and rate a recipe before they have even tried it??? Personally this is a great one. I've used many variations, such as adding sauteed mushrooms to the filling, substituting marinara for the cheese sauce and I normally will add garlic powder or freshly minced if on hand, as well as onion powder to the dough its self. Using the pre cooked steak strips is amazing, and add so much more flavor! I also prefer to use Italian Sausage over the boring hamburger. Frozen Chicken Fajita in the bags works great as well. This is one you can really play around with and let your imagination run a bit wild on. ;)

No one in family likes green peppers or they don't like us. Trying to decide what I might use as a substitute. May try drained sauerkraut and some sliced apples. Also in place of dried onion, prefer to use fresh onion, minced. Will try this and see what results I get.

Sounds like a real treat to serve on SuperBowl day. Family can eat in front of tv on folding trays. Drink beverage of choice, eat a mixed green salad and not miss a single thing. This meal will be good any day of the week.

I made this the other night in a round pan mot a square one but it came out great. My Dad even asked me where I bought it-he was shocked when I told him I made it and he wanted the receipe. This is great because my father is an excellent cook so I was flattered that he asked me for a receipe instead of me asking him 5 spoons all the way!!!
