Good morning, glorious orange French toast! It's so easy since you can make it ahead.

I've been baking a similar recipe since I saw Alton Brown make it one nite on Good Eats. The only difference is that after grilling, I place it in a 325* oven on a cooling rack over a jelly roll pan for 10-15 minutes. The edges get crunchy/crispy and the center of the toast sets into a yummy custard. Wonderful with maple/pecan syrup and lots of melted butter.

This is a keeper recipe for sure. The toast was fabulous. I liked the Glorious Orange Sauce, but it was a little strong for me. I think the French toast can stand on it's own, or even with a little powdered sugar or maple syrup.

I thought the French bread was a little too thick and made it hard to eat and chew. The flavor was nice though. I will maybe try Texas toast next time.
