Took two tries before getting these to turn out. I reduced the cooking time to 7 minutes, and also stretched it out to 48 mini muffins instead of 36. (The first batch raised too much and with the topping...pretty much ruined the pan.) These taste better once they've been allowed to cool. Make sure to use all the topping.

I will not be making these again. Per previous comments that added to it, I added apple pie spice, vanilla, even sour cream for moistness - didn't help- still dry & tasteless. Even dropped a smidgen of raspberry preserves in the middle before baking- still no good...the topping tasted good but that didn't help the cake either. DON"T TOSS THEM : I'm crumbling them up - soaking them in some sweet condense milk ( rum would work too) and using them as a layer in a trifle.

The crumb topping on this was okay, but the muffin part was very, very bland. It is doubtful that I will be making these again.

I thought was pretty good. I added the extra egg like someone suggested. I added the tsp of cinn, a couple dashes of nutmeg (too much nutmeg), and a splash of vanilla to the batter. There was to much nutmeg, but that was my fault. Helpful tip, gentally pat the topping on the batter before putting it in oven. Helps it stick a bit better if the batter rises to much. I would make again.

These were a disappointment - very dry - no flavor - my son said they tasted like dry pancakes - must be that Bisquick taste. My husband, who is a big coffee cake lover, didn't care for them at all. Would never make again.

I thought they were quite tasty. Wonderful with a cup of coffee, thus coffee cake. I did not have enough pans, so did three big ones in cupcake pans. They were easy to make with ingredients I had on hand.
