Pass the bar! Take your bar baking to a higher level with these wonderful raspberry bars. They have an unusual ground walnut crust.

Very easy recipe. I used a seedless raspberry spreadable fruit preserve; depending upon the preserves used I recommend increasing to 3/4 cup. Heating preserves in the microwave for up to 30 seconds makes it easier to spread as well, even when the jar hasn't yet been refrigerated. Just realized I'd left out the cinnamon and it was still good. Using a variety of fruit preserve flavors would make it seem as if you'd worked hard when it would have been very easy. This recipe is definitely a keeper and one to share.

I made these and used oatmeal instead of the walnuts, really good! I also used blackberry preserves which my husband loved. I thought they might have been a little sweet but he says it was one of the best desserts.

I have to admit, it took me less than 10 minutes to get these cookies put together. I love parchment paper, which made popping them out of the pan easy and minimal cleanup. I dusted the cookies with a little powdered sugar for a nice effect. Next time, I''ll kick up the cinnamon a wee bit, because I could barely taste it. I also think apricot jam would be good, too! Pretty Christmas gifts for the office.

I made these bars using the cookie exchange recipe for a larger quantity. The only alteration I made was mixing half the raspberry and half the strawberry preserves- VERY YUMMY and I took out 1/3 or the ground nuts and added brown sugar in its place- I just like them a little sweeter!! Even my 5 year old loved these "jelly cookies" !!
