medium carrots, sliced (2 cups)

large onion, chopped (1 cup)

cans (14.5 oz each) diced tomatoes with Italian-style herbs, undrained

cans (14 oz each) chicken broth

can (19 oz) cannellini beans, drained

teaspoons dried basil leaves

package (9 oz) refrigerated Italian sausage- or cheese-filled ravioli
  • 1 In 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker, mix all ingredients except ravioli. Cover; cook on Low heat setting about 6 hours or until vegetables are tender.
  • 2 Increase heat setting to High. Stir in ravioli. Cover; cook about 8 minutes longer or until ravioli are tender.

I made this last weekend and really liked it. I think next time I will add more broth to make it more soupy, but otherwise it was good. I also wondered about adding crumbled italian sausage...

I made this today thinking it would be good and even added some frozen meatballs. It's a good idea but just too bland for my family's tastes. I will try again and add some garlic, oregano,red kidney beans, and maybe some pasta sauce to thicken it up. I served this with garlic bread.
