A creative twist on the traditional birthday cake. Kids will love eating their cake in a cone instead of on a plate!

I also thought putting the cone upside down was crazy. I just filled mine and baked. Alot easier and looked and turned out better. Plus the inside was not lighter and did not topple like this idea.

Setting your cone upsidedown in the batter is just wierd to me. I've always poured the batter right into the cones and set the cones into a muffin pan. It works out great and the whole cone is filled with cake. Never had a problem with baking them this way! Good Luck!

A great idea, but when we made them they were soggy the next day. Good thing we made a batch of the ice cream cone ones and regular ones or my twins wouldnt have had any cupcakes for their birthday party. Any suggestions on how to keep them from getting soggy the next day? We have made them before and this has always been a problem (I just couldnt remember if they got soggy in 1 day or 2)

Accidentally bought jumbo cones. Worked out perfectly for us, because my daughter wanted ice-cream in the cones. So we filled the cones partway with icecream and left them in the freezer overnight, layered frosting over that, and then inserted a cupcake. Next, frosted them like the picture, and they were awesome!

Betty Crocker, THANK YOU for this recipe! THIS is the way to make ice cream cone cupcakes! I tried this way and the way where you fill the cone with batter. The other way flopped and these were beautiful!
