tasty combination but I added sauce of 3T brown mustard, 1/2 C maple syrup,3T balsamic vinegar, 3T olive oil, 1 t thyme, 1/2 t coarse bl. pepper, pinch of salt before roasting. Heat sauce before tossing veggies in it to roast to blend flavors.

I made almost this exact same recipe for Christmas dinner...imagine my surprise to find it here! This whole time I thought it was my own brilliant idea ;-) My version used red potatoes instead of turnips and fresh thyme instead of Italian seasoning. It got rave reviews and I'm sure this one would too - the next time I'm in the mood for roasted root veggies I will definitely try this slightly-altered version.
