I looked around and it says to do like substitutions for oil/ applesauce. So for this recipe, 1/2 c oil=1/2c applesauce. It was suggested to put 2 T oil in to improve texture, but that will be up to you as you experiment. I plan to make these tomorrow, I wanted a chocolate chip cookie- now it can be "healthified"!

Yummy, very good recipe. I used half as much butter that the recipe called for, and I used splenda instead of thew granulated sugar. It doesnt taste exactyly like the original recipe, but its very good for being "healthified". I was very impressed how good they tasted for having only whole wheat flour, and very little butter. I strongly suggest you only use half as much butter. It still tastes great.

I don't know how to figure nutritional values but here is what I did to this recipe.. I used splenda instead of granulated sugar, splenda brown sugar twin, applesauce instead of oil, I can't believe it's not butter baking stick and eggbeaters instead of the egg. These came out perfect. Moist, chewy and very low in calories.

They are very moist and quite yummy. I used less butter and they turned out just fine plus I mixed in half chocolate chip and half peanut butter.
