EXPERT TIPS

Expert Tips

A 9-ounce package of Green Giant® frozen asparagus cuts, thawed and drained, can be used for the fresh. Also, if you can’t find cream of asparagus soup, try cream of chicken or cream of celery.

Shredded Italian-style cheese blend is a great convenience product packed with flavor! You can look for different types including six-cheese, roasted garlic and other flavors.

This was very easy to make. I enjoyed it. I think I would have preferred chicken over ham. The taste of the ham didn't mesh well with the soupy base for me.

I followed this recipe exactly and it was very delicious. I did not find it to be too salty, nor did I experience a soggy Bisquick topping like some of the other reviewers. Asparagus has a strong flavor and the cream sauce complements that nicely - not bland at all. I used a bag of frozen asparagus spears, which were easy to cut up while still frozen.

I made this tonight with leftover ham from Easter dinner. It was tasty but I was not able to spread the batter over the top like the recipe said, even after adding additional milk. You kind of have to clump the dough over the top like a pot pie. It spreads when baking and turned out fine.
