Pockets of sweet cream cheese bake in a rich chocolate cake slathered with fudgy frosting. Yum!

This sounds very similar to cupcakes I make that everyone loves. Scratch cake and drop large spoonfulls of the filling in the middle, bake. No frosting. Some like these warm but I love them cold because of having the filling cold. YUMMMMMM

I made this tonight and was a little disappointed. The taste was fine (hence the 3 stars). But, since I added a box of pudding, block of cream cheese, 5 eggs, chocolate chips, sugar, etc etc... I expected it to taste more than just a normal devils food cake (from a mix). But it didn't. It just tastes like normal cake. Which is GOOD, because I like cake. But I could have made it much faster and more cheaply by just making it per the directions on the box. I frosted with white frosting and topped with mini semi sweet chips.

Made this last night for a co-workers b-day. Cake mix was very thick almost like a brownie mix? I took it out of the oven after 40 minutes. Good thing I did. A few more minutes and it would have burned. The edges where overcooked and and the cream cheese layer did not distribute throughout, instead it was just a thin layer on top. Very dry overall. Very disappointed. The picture looks so yummy.

I love finding new recipes that I can make with cake mixes. Fast and easy thats what I like. For taste this recipe gets a 4 1/2 spoons from me. I made it just like the recipe called for, next time I think I will pour 1/2 my batter in my pan then the cream cheese mixture then more cake. My cake had most of the cream cheese mixture on top or very near the top. Keep it up Betty Crocker I love your site!

Made this for my Dad's 93rd bday. Everyone LOVED it!! I made a 3-layer cake instead of 13" 9" and used choc/vanilla swirled chips and cheesecake icing. Simply fabulous!!!!

This was SO DECADENT! I used Pillsbury devils food cake (sorry betty crocker!) and just followed the boxes directions but went ahead and added the chocolate pudding mix and the vanilla as well. I could have eaten the batter alone! I made this into cupcakes instead of cake. The biggest plus I think though is that I used Sugar free pudding mix, Sugar free choco chips, Sugar Free chocolate icing and fat free cream cheese and it STILL tasted amazing. I agree with one review I read though that the fat free cream cheese makes that mixture runny. Highly reccommend this recipe!

Love love love this cake. Made it for a coworker birthday and it was a big hit. I am not usually a chocolate on chocolate kind of person but this cake is awesome. I found a chocolate cream cheese icing and thought it was fabulous but I also think it would be good with regular cream cheese frosting. Has anyone tried it with the vanilla cake mix?

I made this cake just a few days ago. I would give it 10 spoons if I could! Everyone loved it and it sure went fast. I decided to use the yellow box cake. I did try 1/3 less fat cream cheese. I think it made the filling a bit runny. I did add some regular cream cheese to it to thicken it up. It was great, highly recommend!!

I love sweets but by husband doesn't so I don't make them much because I end up eating them all. I tried this and my husband as usual din't try it right away but later in the evening he had a small piece and loved it. I've made it twice since then and he always enjoys it. Easy to make and tastes great.
