I've been making this for years from the Better Crocker cook book my mom gave me in 1980. However I don't use the microwave. I put all the ingredients in a small sauce pan and heat over VERY low heat, stirring frequently until smooth.
It is best for a thin frosting on brownies. Or I increase the amounts and drizzle it over a Bundt cake.
Try adding a dash or salt, vanilla, or even more cocoa powder.
