I love this recipe as I love caramel on ice cream. I have made it a bit different though. Instead of 1 cup of the light corn syrup, I use 1/2 corn syrup this prevents the caramel from separating when it cools down. I increase the butter by 3 additional tablespoons. Lastly, instead of whipping cream(because we don't always have that in the house), I use ice cream but I reduce it to approximately 1/2 cup and it comes out great. It's fast and easy to make. I have even made this and canned it for Christmas gifts around the holidays. Canning is ok as long as you put the sauce in the jars hot so as it cools it seals the jar and then it is safe for the shelf until the jar is open and then refrigerate after you open the jar. Enjoy.

I received a lot of compliments on this sauce. I gave a jar of this along with a jar of the Decadent Fudge Sauce to two different people as hostess presents. Both sauces were highly praised by both recipients. My husband and I love them both, too! Great for making turtle sundaes and topping with pecans.

Same question for me too! I would love to give this out as a gift. I'm sure after you cool it you can place it in a jar. It stores for 2 months so I don't see why not.

One would think that with the amount of sugar (a natural preservative I believe) and bringing to boiling twice would stablize this wonderful sounding potion . . . just sayin'

Like 'angelasims' said, I wonder if this can be sealed up (in 1/2 pint size) jars to pack into Christmas gift baskets? An answer by Betty Crocker staff or someone else who may have done this would be helpful! Thank you!

Simply Sweet! The Divine is so true of this sauce - liquid caramel to heighten any dessert and /or simply a taste on the tongue. I passed this recipe on to 5 other people and it is a winner for all of them! My sister says it is the best yet of any caramel sauce she ever made - so thank you Betty Crocker!
